落ちているゴミを走りながらキャッチするスウェーデン生まれの新しいスポーツ「プロギング」を広めている常田英一朗さん。自然が大好きな常田さんは大学時代、ワンダーフォーゲル部に所属し世界中の山を登頂。啓蒙活動以外で自然を守る方法がないかと2019年からスタート。プロギングを社会貢献活動としてではなく、気持ちがいいから行うフィットネスのように、生活の一部へと進化・浸透させていきたいと語る常田さんの思い描く未来とは？
Mr. Eiichiro Tokita is popularizing “Plogging”, a new sport from Sweden that involves picking up garbage while running. Mr. Tokita, who loves the outdoors, was a member of the Wandervogel club at university and climbed mountains around the world. He started this project in 2019, looking for ways to protect the environment other than awareness campaigns. Mr. Tokita says that he wants Plogging to evolve and become a part of daily life, not just as a social contribution activity, but as a way to stay fit because it feels good.
